St. Michael’s College

To the west of the Abbey Church set in a verdant landscape is St. Michael’s College, a co-ed Primary school opened in 1983. The College has a well-deserved reputation for providing outstanding education for children from Prep to Year 6.

St Michael’s College is an independent, non-denominational school with excellent learning facilities and resources, set in peaceful bush surrounds. The College motto, ‘Wisdom through Growth’ epitomises the education approach and reflects the four pillars the school is built upon – Cultural, Academic, Sporting and Spiritual. Students are offered many learning opportunities both curriculum-based and elective.

Some of the programs offered are instrumental music lessons, band, junior and senior choir, interschool sport, green group and school leadership positions. An Early Learning Centre was opened in 2012. The Centre is a long day care facility for children from six weeks to Kindy age and also offers programs for after school hours and holidays

Each term students will attend the Abbey Church for a Chapel Service presented by Fr George and Sr Veronica. As the College Chaplain, Fr George attends many of the special events held at the college providing a spiritual focus, he also officiates as special services such as Ash Wednesday and the Blessing of the Pets on St Francis’ Day. Services are held in the church to commence the year and as part of the graduation celebrations for Year 6 students preparing for the next phase of their education at High School.
